So, a couple of updates:
The most important is Timmy of course. Red has been updating www.fortimmy.org daily so please check it out. The good news is that, although heavily sedated, Tim has been proving that HE is going to be the one writing this chapter of his life, not the doctors or their prognosis’s. Everyday he makes remarkable improvements and reminds us that he is a heroic fighter. Surgery was postponed on Wednesday due to a high fever but that seems to have subsided. It looks like they are targeting Saturday or Monday to reschedule the surgery to stabilize his spinal cord. Every day is more encouraging than the one before it. I love you Tim!!
Second there’s this whole notion of buying a house – OMG! I can’t believe that in four days we’re going to own a house, and not just any house, it’s a house we love. We’re looking forward to the small projects that we’ll be taking care of right away; painting a bathroom (have to cover that stenciling!!), painting the master bedroom and changing the light fixtures in the kitchen. Phase two (4 months maybe?) will include the floors in the kitchen and family room but we’ll live with what we have for now. The biggest obstacle in front of us is packing. Thankfully we made a lot of progress early on but we still have to pack the kitchen (yes, the whole kitchen), our clothes, and random stuff still lying around. We’re getting there though.
Then there’s Harry Potter…. He is consuming every spare moment I have. Last night I stayed up until 1:00 AM and made it to about the half way point. When the movers show up and we’re not ready to go, I’ll be blaming Harry.
Finally, Henry and I signed up for an adventure this past weekend. We took our 7 month old nephew (AJ) and our 21 month old niece (The Princess) for the day on Saturday. One may have thought we were crazy but quite the contrary; we had a blast. It was Henry’s Dad’s birthday so we all piled in the truck and headed up to the campground. AJ and the Princess were wonderful. AJ’s pretty easy, he just smiles all the time and is happy jumping around in his walker or hanging out in your arms. The Princess is much more mobile so we went for a walk, swung on the swings, slid down the slide (WEEEEE), walked down to the beach (she liked the boats a lot) and played basketball with Uncle. She was pretty hilarious because she talks non-stop; has something to say to everyone about everything. Her big thing these days is to say “thank-you” and “you’re welcome.” Don’t worry, if you forget to say the appropriate response back to her, she’ll kindly remind you :) After an exciting day with Mom and Dad C we piled the kids back in the truck and headed home. Less than three minutes on the road and they were both snoring. They slept the entire ride home; we wiped them out! Hopefully they had as much fun as we did; we’ll be looking forward to our next date real soon.
Till next time….
